Lipedema

You’re Not Alone

Stage 1

Smooth skin with increased enlarged subcutaneous fatty tissue

Stage 2

Uneven skin with indentations in the fatty tissue and larger mounds of fatty tissue (lipomas) that can be seen and felt.

Stage 3

Large extrusion of fatty tissue that causes deformities especially in the thighs and around the knees.

Stage 4

Development of lipolymphedema, a condition in which both lipedema and lymphedema are present in the body, with large lumps of tissue in the legs or arms.

Initial Stage Progression Critical Stage

Our mission is simple

What is Lipedema and What are the Symptoms?

Lipedema is a chronic condition involving an abnormal accumulation of adipose tissue, primarily in the lower extremities and sometimes in the arms. It is often mistaken for obesity or lymphedema, but it is a distinct medical condition that can cause pain, tenderness, and a feeling of heaviness. If you notice a significant disproportion between your lower and upper body that does not improve with diet or exercise, you may be experiencing symptoms of lipedema.
